PLEASE CHANGE THE MALE ELEMENTALS DANCE ROUTINE!!

The dance for the Male Elemental is REALLY bad! I mean all the other charcters have a great looping dance. The Elemental looks like he needs surgery or something! Please could he not at least do the robot or the charlston or anything but what he is doing now. I can join some dance parties then without getting everyone to stop as soon as I turn up!!!

As stated in my thread I would like to start a petition to get the MALE elementalists dance changed from an obscure reference to an episode of Seinfled The Little kicks episode. The dance is done by a character called Elaine who I believe the last time I checked is female! Why is the Elemental doing a dance from Seinfeld when he could be doing something else, like anything else!! Please don't post to this thread if you don't agree! This thread is for people who feel the same way. Respect my point of view and I'll leave the pro elementalist dance fans alone.

Because the Elaine dance is funny. And you don't get to decide who gets to post in here. Having only post from people who agree with you would make the argument look lop-sided, and many of us, if not most like the Elaine dance. Although looping back to the beginning would be really nice!

I wouldn't call it an obscure reference. You didn't know that it was a joke referencing a Seinfeld episode, but you were able to figure out the name of the episode (The Little Kicks), presumably by being told it was from a Seinfeld episode and that Elain did the dance. Hardly obscure...

The episode is hilarious... perhap you should watch it some time.

I love this dance, makes me laugh every time. Its nice to have a character who doesn't know how to dance too, and its especially fitting that its the male elementalists

It's the male mesmer that does the river dance... lol yea, it's such a panzy dance. The other day a one of the male mesmers was doing this dance while he was using distortion. A opposing warrior was trying very hard to stab him.. so futile as 75% is evaded lol.

Little kicks MUST stay, although I could do without all of his other terrible dance moves. I think whoever was in charge of dance animations set out to make the Male Elementalist have the worst not just out of the other characters, but out of any other dance on the planet. The first couple look like something the guy could've seen at a Christmas party.

As for Mesmers doing the river dance, I can only say one thing: Nothing beats the river dance.

I don't know why it has to be the male that has the Elaine-dance, though. Plus, I think it's a pretty obscure reference, funny as it is. I mean, if the male has a bad dance, I think the female should have a bad dance too.

On another subject, I also think the elementalist's drum playing and guitar playing are pretty mediocre.

Flute playing is silly, and ok.

See, the way these forums work is when you make a suggestion, your putting it out to the community. Then it's up to the community to discuss the suggestion. That way, when the Anet reps come by, and they look at your thread, they get a more general view of what the community wants, instead of just one or two people.

I"m an elementalist and you have to consider two important things here:

Important point 1-each dance is relative to the character. (I'll discuss males since it's male elementalist were discussing anyway)

a monk is a holy warrior, their dance is like tai chi or a kung-fu hustle

A warrior is a brute jock and his dance totally shows that
I don't know the other's dances right off hand, but...

An elementalist is effeminate by nature, in tune with nature is not a brutish kind of thing it's a sensitivity thing. Magic, by it's nature, is opposite physical strength and so one would expect a magician to be a bit socially withdrawn, a bit standoffish. I think the beginning of the dance with the elementalist just bobbing up and down as he looks around, later starting to sway side to side... this is fantastic! I love it!

Important point 2- the kicks are retarded! and once he starts kicking he doesn't stop kicking! that's the end of the dance! You know what I do? I stand directly behind him and as soon as he sets up to start his kicking (when he grabs his foot) I tap backwards and quickly type again /dance so that he starts over. That or I throw in the towel and just /sit down while I wait for my party to get ready.
